Væstm

Væstm is a large continent

The Wild

Also referred to as 'The End of the World', The Wild is the last bastion of True Magic on the continent of Væstm. While there are some pockets of magic here and there across the world, The Wild is the one place where magical beings live more or less undisturbed by humanity. Anything and everything ever mentioned in myth is said to exist there, from fairies to dragons and everything in between. Expeditions to The Wild are constantly attempted, but rarely succeed- mostly because the path tests more than just a person's ability to survive.

However, those who make the journey and return are often seen as heroes, and people of the highest worth.

The Royal Family of Indhrim happens to include more than its fair share of individuals who have made the journey- and for good reason.

Dragonkin

"."
--

Not much is known about Dragonkin save that they are the last link between Humanity and Dragonkind, the gatekeepers to the True Wild where no human may tread. Instead, Dragonkin may choose to enter the heart of The Wild in order to speak on behalf of a human, earning that human the blessing- or condemnation- of one of the Elder Wyrms residing there. Sometimes, those who reach the Dragonkin choose to stay there, living among them until they are either transformed for their perseverance, or passing quietly, glad to have at least had the chance to reach so far. Others choose to return and tell the tales of the Dragonkin, though over time they have been distorted through hearsay and miscommunication.

The Dragonkin rarely choose to leave The Wild, and those that do seldom return- but to win a Dragonkin to your side means a great deal, as they are blessed by the Elder Wyrms only they can speak to, and it is said that a single Dragonkin is as valuable as an army.

Country: Vrett

Once a subpar and unestablished kingdom, it all changed when the second king of Vrett's young wife was found to be a far more capable leader than her husband. After his death, Vrett came entirely under her control, and as such, the matriarchal traditions of the kingdom began. These days, Vrett is a relatively large, rich country with vast wood and farmlands, lacking in any sort of mass production, which relies heavily on other countries for artificially manufactured goods. Despite that, they are also the main source of a vast majority of certain fruits and grains, and use the fact to their advantage.

The queen herself is a kind, just ruler, albeit a bit sentimental- but she is no less skilled or good a ruler for it, and in fact in the few short years since her rule began, Vrett has been flourishing diplomatically and economically.

Country: Indhrim

A formerly small, warlike nation, Indhrim once spent most of its time and military energy focusing on protecting its borders from other countries. Eventually, they had been fighting continuously for so long that 'protecting from' became 'adding to'. The smaller countries around it were slowly absorbed into it. Over centuries, Indhrim became a large military power- but once again settled to merely protecting its borders rather than actively conquering other nations.

Upon the untimely death of the previous King and Queen, however, the country was briefly thrown into a power struggle, the kingdom's advisors and military heads believing the then-sixteen princess Amrita to be too young to rule on her own. Desperate to prove them wrong, she made her way to The Wild and returned with a Dragonkin at her side- proving herself more than worthy of the crown.

Since then, Indhrim has begun to extend its hand to its neighbors, most notably with the large kingdom of Vrett.
